Gents,
Have the same water problem in my '87. The gap in the windows all around....
I bought some foam tape at the parts store normally used for truck caps
(1/2" wide and thickness depends on the gap). Pulled the door panel and
applied it to the glass (outside facing) where I chalked the line where the
door ends and glass starts (plastic sheath needed replacing anyway). End
result is when you roll up the window, the foam seals the door because it
gets nicely squeezed where the door panel is crimped slightly where the
rubber normally goes. The bonus was the wind whistle noise is gone. Not
waterproof, but what does creep in is taken care of by the cleaned-out drain
holes in the door. Nice little $5 solution for both rear doors.
