[Vwdiesel] Still chasing an air leak, only there now when engine is hot

OK, I made a BIG revilation tonight on my 1.6td A2
Jetta Eco Diesel.
The stubbling I was feeling at idle when the motor is
hot is not air, it is timing.

I happened to pull out the advance cable when motor
was hot and the motor smooths out.  So, my timing is
set to 1.00mm, I need to go more advanced, right.
That would also explain why with advance cable out on
cool mornings I have to do glows 2 times and it still
starts rough with lots of smoke.  I am also seeing
lots of smoke at idle with my current timing setting.

So, up it to 1.04mm or 1.05mm and see how things run.
Again, this is a VE pump from a 83 TD motor, not the
pump for this motor at all, but from what I have
learned over the years working with timing, it is all
mechanical, no ghosts, no ECU, all cause and effect.

So, up the timing and see how she runs.
