Hi, I accidentally founs this adress when seached google for LD24.
My name is David Ghequière and I live in Ghent, Belgium and I have to admit that I have a problem. I'm an VW-addict! I used to drive an 1966 VW type3 notchback, but I sold it because I had to much work to do on my house. Now I drive an VW T3 Doka, pickup 1989.
 
This is my problem:
The bus drives approximately 85 km/u (very slow at the cost of high rpms)
The engine is a 1.6 d with a 4-gearbox.
I am looking for an 1.6 Td or an 1.9 Td and a 5-gearbox, but I can't find the identification number on the gearbox!!!!
Does anyone of the members know a place where I can purchase a used gearbox and engine because I have been searching for over 2 weeks now on the web, and it seems hopeless!
 
I would be very thankfull if someone could tell me where the identification number is on the 
gearbox
