Here's a tidbit.
I have had those damn glow plug fuses nearly make me walk one too many
times. my 89 Jetta came with lengths of fusible wire with ring
connectors on the ends (ordinary crimp on jobs)

Needless to say, it doesn't die yet still look fine like the lead/tin
firewall fuses we love so much.
I spent today chasing a circuit around my big tractor only to find it
was a good looking, yet open circuit fuse (GM spade type) that was the
culprit. real fun, getting reminded to never trust the obvious.
