[Vwdiesel] Manifold Nuts

I've gotten recommendations for the stock (copper) nuts, 8 line (I assume
that's hardened, grade 8?) and for brass nuts...
Anyone have a strong preference for one over the other, preferably anyone
with vast experience in the "salt/rust" belt? I'm in Wisconsin...
Grade 8 hardened nuts would scare me if I ever had to chisel them off, yes?
The stock ones were on there when I got the van - don't really know how long
they were on there, but when I took them off the first time, they were a
pain and mostly gone.
I've never encountered brass.

I've used those with good luck as well. They do lock OK, but
they are softer than 8 line, and I've had to remove a couple
with a torch and vicegrips. They are soft, and the vicegrips
bite right into them.
