I'd forget Fleabay and use the Chicago area Craigslist or Autotrader book. If you think you need a title search, use Carfax. Probably someone else did that and found that the car actually had a salvage title in FL or some place near there. You local DMV most likely will only have its own records of when you brought it to Illinois.
