A couple of loose thoughts:

Apparently the VW diesel folks ARE not only better looking, but
more intelligent...just a few weeks ago, I heard a governmental
"expert" claim on a radio talk show that there was tons of 
"free" hydrogen available through "free" water, waiting to 
power our cars.  Yea, right.

While listening to him, I was thinking how I would demo such
a vehicle...obviously, pour in the water, and have an 
acetylene powered rocket car...

Speaking of Tesla, my Grandfather, same name as me, was arrested
by General Schwarzkopf's father, for "stealing" electric power.
When he was a teenager he would hang flourescent lights, and 
neon lights on their backyard clothes line, under high tension
power lines.  The state trooper, observing this, arrested him
and he was charged with "stealing" power from the power company.
Some smart lawyer, hired by my irritated Great Grandfather, had
the wisdom to ask the state to prove that there was power missing
after the act of stealing.
