 I have an '85 Jetta and it has one.  Holds about two gallons.
The fuel filter also has a drain on it but no sensor.  Yeah, there 
were some kits that replaced the valve in the bottom of the 
filter or something and then set off a light on the dash.  All 
aftermarket afik.
