[Vwdiesel] Anybody modify a B4 headlight switch?

  I got a set of replacement fog/reflector/turn lights for the 
wagon and they're actual fog lights. I'd like to use them.  
  I pulled the switch/dimmer assembly and got the switch 
out of that.  There's a red, rotary flip that switches day 
lights and headlights.  In the middle is a white plastic in/out
part that turns on the fog circuit.  I haven't yet figured how 
to pull the knob off to get at the end, to modify things to 
allow it to pull. 
  Anybody know anything about it?  :-)
