[Vwdiesel] Headlight mystery problem?

The only things IMO to put out two lightbulbs is severe trauma [is there a
moose stuck in your grill] and a voltage surge. Could be that the
alternator brushes are glassed over slightly. My father had a Citroen that
used to blow bulbs; searching found that the battery boiled fiercely.
Checking with a voltmeter found it charging at over 16volts. Scrapeing the
brushes with abrasive paper took it back down to a pleasant [sp] 14v
