[Vwdiesel] What is a yellow dot pump?

No, that is something the rebuilder did so he would be
sure no one took the pump apart after he was finished
with it and tested it.  It goes out the door after he
tested it, then he paints it closed.....

That way, if you say his pump failed 10K down the road
and he see the paint broken on the screws, he knows
someone messed with it and will not warrenty the work.
 

Very few yellow dot pumps left, they were from the
early 80's.
