[Vwdiesel] Quantum/Dasher Front subframe bushes

What's the best way to remove these critters? I've not done one in 10 years and I seem to recall heating it up until the rubber softened. I don't want to remove the subframe preferably....
 
...Maybe wedge a 3/4 socket behind and jack car up with subframe??
