when i said the disc clutch was ok i only meant that it was not slipping. It is quite possible that the center springs are what have come apart, with pieces flying everywhere. On two occasions it prevented the engine from turning over. On each a event i put the car in gear and gently rolled the car and dislodged the jam. Is there a a way to determine if a transmission 5th gear is going bad (IE inspection plate).mine has been coming out of 5th.
thanks for all the response and i will update you as the running gear is dismantled. ray> Date: Sun, 3 Aug 2008 13:04:23 -0700> From: knealeski at sbcglobal.net> To: eriklane at gmail.com; vwdiesel at vwfans.com> Subject: Re: [Vwdiesel] clutch replacement parts and timing tool purchase info> > I had an Audi throwout bearing disintegrate with pieces going all over the place.
