Is it still on the vehicle? If so then STOP!
If you manage to separate it without using the trick of a longer bolt
in the center hole to hold the internal parts in place then they ARE
going to fall out of place and then the whole pump has to be
disassembled on the bench to put things back where they go.
There is a way to do it without removing the pump from the motor. If I
remember right you've already gotten those instructions. If not I can
search for them and forward them to you.
You pulled off the 4 corner bolts as well as whatever bolts hold on
the bracket on the back end, right? Once all of those are off it
should slide out. It would probably only be gunk or corrosion between
the two parts. There's an o-ring between the two, but other than that
not a whole lot.
