[Vwdiesel] my swap to the 1.9NA pump in my Vanagon

So far, all is going well. Taking parts from the future AAZ motor still waiting for time to rebuild, I was able to assemble the parts needed. The 2 main reasons for doing this was
1. To see if the 1.9na pump I got will give me any more power then the 1.6na pump I had been running. I feel the van is still way underpowered at times.
2. Have a timing belt cover the fits, a nice factory setup now with proper positioning of the injection pump for this motor. I was running with an open timing belt on top and only the small lower timing belt cover for many years. Not smart.
I did have to purchase the 1.9 pump gear because it is very different from the 1.6 pump gear. The inner shaft is the same size but the pump itself is pushed out more towards the front of the motor with the 1.9 injection pump mounting bracket. A WAY Better setup then the 1.6 mounts.
So, the new/used pump is on, I set the timing to .0398" and I am about to torque down the cam and pump bolts. Then I look over on the workbench and what do I see......
the nice, freshly prep-ed and painted rear tin for the timing belt cover that must go on first, behind the cam and pump gears as well as behind the intermediate shaft pulley. ARGGGGGGGGGGGG
I need to order injector lines for #1 and #2 since re-bending my injector lines for #3 and #4 was a bear, but I had room to work, no way I am doing this for #1 and #2. I also need the lower timing belt cover since the one from the AAZ was broken. So, the van will sit now until labor day as I am leaving Friday night for vacation for a week.
Just my blunder for this past weekend. But, this motor will be looking very nice when done.
I still need to lower the motor about 2 inches now since this injection pump is almost like a TD pump, it is from an early 90's Polo I think. I also have to extend my throttle cable about an inch now, somehow??
