  Not sure just how the blocks are different but I think they must be.
The pin to piston top heights are different from the 1.5 to 1.6.  I 
remember checking out the differences when 1.5 pistons started 
getting scarce.  They're now nearly non-existent.  I'd never try 
to rebuild a 1.5 to a 1.6 IF it WOULD work.  The head bolt holes 
are simply more easy to crack.  It'd never survive boring to a 1.9 
most likely.
