[Vwdiesel] It starts !(1982 vw pickup) Next step is to try to drive it!

In October, 2006, I started acquiring parts and pieces and patchwork knowledge to get a vw diesel up and running. I decided to start with a 1982 vw pickup,LX with a head problem on the 1.6L engine. I was able to purchase a recently re-built 1.6 NA engine and a five speed transmission.
Many of you on the list responded to my neophyte questions and/or pointed me to the proper manuals and forums.
Be advised, after over a year, I started the engine for the first time today, 9 Feb 2008. Only have to check one or two more items that I should have checked before putting it together; alternator (squeaks when engine runs) and pulley gets quite warm; replace tension pulley that got bent while re-installing the engine.

Was a great feeling to crank it up!
