[Vwdiesel] 81 pickup electrical fixed WAS Re: TDI electrical weirdness

Well, on a similar note, the good voltage/good battery/good ignition
switch/good starter/no crank on my buddy's 81 pickup ended up being a
corroded spade terminal where the ignition wire feeds the starter.  We
even put in a relay to bypass current flowing through the ignition
switch.  It was intermittent :(  Finally cut off the old spade
connector, put a new one on and all is well, after TWO months of
searching, and an unsuccessful trip to the shop (on wife's request -
they put in new glow plugs, and said it was good - ah, no.)
