Just came upon some interesting info at our local Grass Valley, CA Unitarian Church. I haven't had time to research this, but the info sounds too interesting not to share so here goes.
A new type battery has been developed that will enable a range of 400 miles before in need of a recharge, can be recharged in 5 minutes, & will cost less than a lead acid battery. Sounds too good to be true? Maybe, & maybe not. It is described as a "high power density ultra capacitor battery. It supposedly was developed by E.E. Stor, Inc. & has been bought out by Lockheed Aircraft. Whether they will develop & market this battery, keep it off the market to keep the unrest going in the Middle East to protect their military contract business, or this is an untrue urban legend.

I also heard of a new type of solar voltaic cell that is three times more powerful than previous cells & can be applied to a roof like role on roofing. It is www.nanosolar.com
