[Vwdiesel] Stereo DIN mount

You can go overboard (like I have) and make your own mounting brackets
out of plumbers tape pop-riveted or wire welded to the radio box. Make a
couple or four 90 degree angles from about 1.5 inches of plumbers tape
(mild galv. steel tape w/holes all up and down available at any hardware
store). Use smallest pop rivets to attach these to the radio box where
it sits in the dash just where you want it. You can then screw the thing
to the dash. Make sure the smooth side of rivets are inside the box. It
makes for a very tight squeeze slipping the radio into the box- you
might even need to file them down. Another approach would be to tack the
P.tape brackets to the box with a wire welder- no obstructions in the
box. I think that's what I'll do next time!
