[Vwdiesel] Quantum questions?

Rumple Stiltskin has raised some questions I can't answer, so perhaps some of you can. The question arose as I found on the Internet, a firm known as Auto Parts Wholesale, (866)828-4322, that is selling on eBay, new Quantum diesel radiators for $65.71 plus S&H of $10. Although my radiator seems OK, I thought it wouldn't hurt at that price,to have a spare one on the shelf. However Stiltskin says there are two different radiators as he asks "does it mount upright/tall/portrait , rather than laying down/wider than tall/landscape?" He also asks about the direction of water flow, up down or cross flow?
As most of you probably know, I just acquired my '82 Quantum TD wagon so I am on a learning curve. As has been my experience with older cars, some parts are not readily available or soon may be. The Quantum may be one of the rarer of VW diesels so I would like to stockpile some of the harder to get parts I might need in the future. Suggestions, please. Also, are some of the VW suppliers more likely to have Quantum parts than the others?
