Back wheels locking up first sounds downright dangerous to me. It'll be
worse when braking quickly from higher speed. Get your ballet shoes on for
some piro...etting :o)

Proportioning valves put on 3:1 ratio ish [variable]

My brother found out that the rear truck lines are the same as the front
Vanagon brakes I think. But only if don't have the proportioning valve. Also
my brother has just replaced all of his hoses and pistons and front calipers
and took out the proportioning valve (that measures weight on back engine
and brakes from to back accordingly on 1980's, ,my 1981 didn't have one) he
says the backs stop first and the brakes feel more spongy. Is this a bad
master cylinder or is it the proportioning valve that was taken out. He
wants to know before this weekend when he is making a trip from Minnesota to
Wyoming to visit me. I thought the rear brakes stopping first might be the
self adjusting part of the brakes might need to be pushing out again with
the new rear pistons.
