Because you have a turbo, you could go without a muffler altogether and it will be very quiet.  Seriously.  

On my dad's TDI, we had the stock exhaust system removed and had larger diameter straight pipe put in its place.  The turbo quiets the exhaust so much, you can't tell the difference between the before and after.  (with or without a muffler.)  Mom had no idea until I told her.
