Ok, I have never compared the radiators on my truck vs. the car (which the car is the one over heating). I at first thought that my car was over heating because on my new head I bought for that engine a couple of coolant ports didn't line up. I had bought a new radiator for the car when I did a rebuild of the car when first I bought the car and got the radiator from carquest. I didn't get the truck radiator there, I bought it at some other small shop (in the state that it blew up the core driving up a mountain to ski).

Long story short I found my cars radiator wasn't allowing the coolant to flow through the radiator like it should. I was having to turn the heater on to cool my car if I went up a long enough hill and in the truck the gauge never got above half. I had even tested and changed the fan switch (which I never heard come on) and tested and changed the thermostat (changed to one that opened at 160 instead of 190. All that didn't do a thing. I even hot wired the fan to a switch in the cab to try to cool it. Didn't do a thing. I always thought it was the coolant ports on the head because a radiator was a radiator to me. Well looking closer the core on the truck has two rows of round pipes and the car has one row of flattened tubes (very restrictive).

I noticed that the one side of the radiator never got even warm but the other side would burn you and I thought the blocked head was just causing a flow problem. Well lesson learned, I got a cheap radiator and will get a good one. Either way I am also putting the 1.9 td aaz also in since I bought that also. With my truck I can work the engine hard and never get close to over heating, and its fan does come on.

One other question for Rodger. Are you going to start selling stuff ever again. My brother and I would like to buy a set of leaf spring rubber replacements from you but your site has been down to buying for months. We are very impressed with your shift kits and would never do it any other way. No rush but it has been a while and I can't recommend others to your shift kits if they aren't for sale either. As always thanks for everyone's help and I hope my pass on to research radiators also helps.
