[Vwdiesel] uhhh, removing strut insert?

I use a small drift and hammer to start it turning.  Usually turns pretty
easily once it gets started.

Hmmmm..  I've got the internally threaded 81 pickup inserts.  Any tips on
getting this thing out? I'm a bit concerned about banging up the strut
housing.  Pipe wrench?  hmmmm..
