[Vwdiesel] Audi engine for sale - $600 (Sutherlin, Oregon)

I found this craigslist post for an engine for my 5000.  it's about 350
miles away, which isn't bad, but does anyone know of a good method to ship
one of these from a small town near i-5?

also, what can i do to check the quality of a removed engine before buying
it?
