VW uses their own stuff, but on my A2, I replaced with GM fluid, which I
have in quantity anyway.
On a side note, that Lucas oil power steering fixer upper in a bottle
actually works. I use a snort of that in every PS reservoir that is
over ten years old around here. I tried it originally on my 97 golf.-
it leaked from when i got it, and after refill of the reservoir witht eh
lucas oil stuff (it was a half inch low) the leak ended, and is still
non-existent. Whatever they have in there for seal sweller/softener,
works.
