[Vwdiesel] VW Rabbit Diesel Tachometer

Anyone know if the VW Rabbit Diesel years of approximately 1979 to 1984 came with a tach? I'd like to put a gauge cluster with a tach. in my 1981 Rabbit Diesel Pick-up.
