  Dad had a '79 GMC pu.  It had about 75K on it when the orchard 
bought new 6.9 Fords in '86 so his brother put it in the local 
Niclel Ads for $1500.  Of course it was sold by 4:00 that day.  
Dad didn't want to come across as a jerk and exercise his right 
to buy it  (for 2/3 of the partnership price) after it was already 
promised to a buyer.  He really should have.  It got around in 
snow like it was 4 wheel drive, rode like a car, made about 21mpg
and was a sharp looking truck. :-(  Used to see it once in a while 
but not for a long time.  Soft sprung but I liked that truck.  It 
had an Allison built TH400 that had a lovely freewheel feature 
when you let off the throttle.
