Dad had a '79 GMC pu. It had about 75K on it when the orchard
bought new 6.9 Fords in '86 so his brother put it in the local
Niclel Ads for $1500. Of course it was sold by 4:00 that day.
Dad didn't want to come across as a jerk and exercise his right
to buy it (for 2/3 of the partnership price) after it was already
promised to a buyer. He really should have. It got around in
snow like it was 4 wheel drive, rode like a car, made about 21mpg
and was a sharp looking truck. :-( Used to see it once in a while
but not for a long time. Soft sprung but I liked that truck. It
had an Allison built TH400 that had a lovely freewheel feature
when you let off the throttle.
