[Vwdiesel] WARNING! Calif. diesels to be smoged!

I attended a meeting today of the ACCC or Association of Calif. Car Clubs (go to www.acccdefender.org  for details on this organization), & heard from a representative of the Calif. Bureau of Auto repair (CARB), the organization that runs the state's smog check program that diesel  cars & trucks made for the 1998 & later model years will come under the smog check program in 2010. Why 1998 & later? This is the year (1998) when the Federal EPA required OBD 2 to be installed in all new diesels. So, if you live in Calif. & don't want the hassle of the smog check program, buy a 1997 or older diesel.
