[Vwdiesel] Warning! Calif. diesels to be smoged

My mistake. CARB stands for Calif. Air Resource Board. BAR stands for the Bureau of Automotive Repair. In my rush to get this info, I made this mistake. BAR implements & monitors the Calif. smog test program. They do work with CARB to implement their policies. The info I referred to in my last message, came from a representative from BAR. Today we heard from a CARB representative. The info regarding diesels entering the Calif.. smog test program remains as stated. They apparently won't do a tail pipe test because they lack equipment to do so, but will check out OBD 2 info contained in the vehicle's computer & make a visual check of smog equipment that is supposed to be under the hood. Also, they will make a visual check of the tail pipe to see if it smokes.
