[Vwdiesel] Gas/diesel prices

The point you raise about vehicle regulation is valid. Our problem is that we have abdicated authority over critical things to a hoarde of mindless bureaucrats...many of whom have an agenda. The US EPA, for example, insists on trying to pick winners and losers in the technological battle to meet emissions targets by writing mindless, biased law. In Europe, they have a far more intelligent approach - which came from INDUSTRY, not government. That was to reduce CARBON emissions, which by consequence means everything else goes down with it. Only the technology that does it is the technology that does it (bearing in mind, some might not even exist today, but if it is against a regulatory bias, it will NEVER be available to the public).

As far as you point about $10/$12 fuel: Much of the world is there now. What makes you think we are so special we should be able to continue to squander resources and pollute at the highest rate on the planet to sustain our incredilby greedy lifestyle?

Personally, I am sick to death of the ME< ME> ME generation(s) financing their gluttony on the backs of my children and grandchildren.
