[Vwdiesel] Bad Starting

[Iain Hunter]

I don't have a timing gauge, although I have tried advancing the pump, 
marking where the original setting was of course. The belt was last changed 
about 20,000 miles ago but looks in good nick.

I'm going to try another battery to see if that is the problem and if not, 
new plugs also. I'll keep you posted.
