More laid over than the vanagon? Those things are at 50 degrees!
(Doesn't sound like much, but when you look in there they look like
they're just about lying flat.) There are a lot of people who have
repowered the vanagons with TDIs and might be able to help. There's a
whole list based on TDI-conversions. The list address is
TDI-conversion at yahoogroups.com so if you go to yahoo and search their
groups you can ask questions over there too. They have experience that
would be a little better fit than VW diesel in general. Unless you
want to put a smaller engine in your rig, but if you're going to do it
you might as well go all the way, I would think.
