[Vwdiesel] Towing boat with 85 Jetta+1

good general rule is anything over 1klbs, you really should have 
trailer brakes, actually it's a requirement here in NY.  I haven't had 
any issue towing with my '85 jetta. Dragged the utility trailer to the 
dump several times. I don't have any big hills to go up but I do have a 
stretch of highway and 65mph speed zone to deal with. No heating issues 
to speak of. Just give yourself more time to get up to speed and you 
should be fine. I'll probably try dragging the pop up camper next year, 
that weighs in around 600 lbs by itself.
