[Vwdiesel] Diesel prices

I do what I can to drive the least amount as possible. It is good for the environment as well as for ourselves. We still drive but we plan the trips and timing to maximize each trip taken. I used to ride my Honda CX500 motorcycle to work and it got about 50mpg 20 years ago. Now I ride bicycle to work 7 miles each way in LA, 2.5 miles in Seattle, rain or shine. It helps my own health as well as the environment. I am interesting in the fuel efficient cars as well. My 79 1.5 na Rabbit was giving me 50-55 mpg. I regret I sold it when I took a temp job assignment in Italy. The 81 Rabbit with 1.6na I just sold could only get 40-45mpg. I have a 83 MB 300D gets 26-31pmg but it is a lot more comfortable than the noisy Rabbits. My 72 Beetle gets only about 25mpg but I like its simplicity and originality no complicate electronics. If we all drive sensibly and conserve as much as possible I think we can enjoy our cars and keep the oil price in check.

If we didn't buy their products, they wouldn't be posting such large
profits.
I ride a motorcycle and use 3 gallons every two weeks. My wife drives the 05
Passat TDI and fills up every weeks to a month.
I have an 08 Jeep Patriot. Had it for a year, just now clocked over 5000mi. It
has a lifetime mpg of 23.
This is how I am sticking it to the "man"!
