You want my 1994 Jetta TD?  I've got it Craigs List (N. MI) for $2100.  I haven't the time to mess with VW wiring any longer.  It runs and stops great, but the rear lights don't say so.

I haven't seen ANY working VW diesel going for less than $2500, in the
last year or two.
