  That's how I've done it once or twice.  Pull the hoses from the 
rack and crank the wheels a couple times (engine off) to spit out 
what's in the rack, drain what's in the pump and res.  Then add a 
little fluid, start and work a couple times (hoses reconnected). 
Remove again and re-drain, reconnect and refill.  Not a bad idea 
considering how big a pain a rack can be if it starts leaking.
