[Vwdiesel] Head gasket question

I'd be very cautious about putting anything inside the cylinder which might flake off and cause cylinder damage.

That stuff you mention sounds like it is designed for exhaust manifold applications, where if it flaked off or fell out of a crack it would not be causing engine damage.

I'd be surprised if there is anything except welding that can be used inside the cylinder. And by the time you disassemble, weld, machine, and reassemble it would be cheaper to get a used/rebuilt head.> Date: Fri, 12 Sep 2008 09:52:59 -0400> To: vwdiesel at audifans.com> From: doyt at buckeye-express.com> Subject: Re: [Vwdiesel] Head gasket question> > Mark suggests a kerosene-dribble test, and points out that the head > flatness needs measurement.....both of which makes a lot of sense to me. > Very helpful.
