[Vwdiesel] Speedometer issue

One easy way to see if your speedo is correct is to borrow someones GPS. My
91 Jetta is off by 5mph, when I'm going 60mph on my speedo the GPS is
reading 55mph. It gets worse as I go up, when it reads 80mph I'm only doing
70mph on my GPS. For the longest time I thought I was doing well but
everyone was still passing me.

The factory size is 175/70-13 or 185/60-14. So, those tires are a bit tall,
which will cause the car go faster relative to the speedometer.
However, there are different gears also.
