Bill,
Normally the regulator outlives the brushes, which is why Sandy posted this a few weeks
back:
======
I have found a source of brushes for the A2 bosch alternator brushes.
Made in USA even! By Standard Motor Products
Available at most FLAPS.
Ask for part # GB299 from the "Blue Streak Ignition" catalogue, or
similar.
The UPC is.....9176901362-2
Save your springs from the old ones....not included
Sandy
======
I just put a rebuilt Bosch 90A in my Westy, but had to swap a few parts from a spare 90A I
had. They are easy to work on, but if the reg is bad, best to just get a whole new reg. with
brushes; about $15 last time I bought one, but that was 5+ years ago. The reg assembly is
common to nearly all models of 65 & 90A bosch units, so if you have a spare alt, try
swapping the reg to see if that's the problem.
