Changing oil in the Golf TDI is the same as on everything else. Pull the belly pan, drain oil, replace filter, replace drain plug, fill with fresh oil. Make sure to use 5W40 synthetic (Wal-Mart sells Shell Oil that meets the spec).

I've done my own oil changes on the Golf since I bought it. I'm about to do the 20th one. My how time flies. I really like the 10K mile interval. It makes it a lot less of a hassle.
