[Vwdiesel] changing oil on a 2001 Golf??

Yeah, it's crazy that they won't. My golf has 189K miles on it with zero issues with the engine or turbo. I just change it every 10K. When TDI's first started filtering into the USA, some people on TDIclub did oil analysis after 10K and 20K. Even at 20K, the oil was still serviceable. I wouldn't go that far, though, as there are lots of unforseen things that can happen to the oil in that amount of time like contamination.
And yeah, Rolf, the people who use the dipstick sucker are just too lazy to crawl under the car and pull the pan. It really isn't that hard. I can have my oil completely done in about an hour.
