Alex,

Check the cyl bores to see if you need to bore it out. The pistons for that engine (I have one in my rabbit car and plan on one fore my truck) cost a lot of money. Check your turbo, injectors and injection pump for wear specs (pop pressures for the injectors and spray pattern). But unless you need to bore the engine I wouldn't. On diesel engines the bores last a lot longer as the diesel fuel isn't as dry as gass is so the cyl walls don't wear as fast. Little tip for your engine motor mount. http://www.techtonicstuning.com/showpart.asp?partnum=199.120B This mount will bolt on and fit into the truck without having to attempt to cut up the old 1.6 NA bracket for the motor mount. I used this and just bought 4 bolts. This can be a spendy engine if you over do it. I found it was best to redo what I needed as it has plenty of power for my doings. May want a good set of gauges as well.

Bill, never thought about the glow plugs but may want to double check those as if is starts on a hill then it should by the starter (unless starter is slow).
