Just wanted to post what a difference changing out the two rear shocks on my
91 Jetta made. I completely changed out my rear brakes all except for the
drums they were still in great shape. In the process of the brakes I did the
rear shocks. Now the jetta sits level. Were before it use to sag in the
rear. It also rides much nicer and doesn't bottom out over the rail road
tracks like it use to. I also change out both emergency brake cables since
they were shot.

One question is when changing out he parking brake cables as I was pulling
them out from inside the car the entire tube that the went through came out
with them and is rusted pretty bad. I looked them up but couldn't find them.
Is that a dealer item only. It would be nice to change them out since they
had a few rust holes in them and that means water can get up in there with
the cable.

I also picked up a new headlight switch from a dealer in Washington state.
The dealer here didn't have any and couldn't get any more since they were
discontinued and gave me their number. The reason I had to change it out is
if I didn't pay attention when I turned my lights on the tail lights didn't
come on. I got pulled over on the way to work the other morning for no tail
lights. Lucky for me I didn't get a ticket. The officer came up to the
window and said "do you know you do not have any tail lights" I rocked the
headlight switch and said are they on now? He looked and said yea. So I told
him that my switch has been acting up. He just said to either hard wire
them or get a new switch. So here I am. $100 less in my bank account but
at least now my lights come on every time. I have been dealing with that
issue for well over a year and didn't want to spend the money or time to
rewire. It goes and takes getting pulled over at 4:30 in the morning to make
the decision for me.

Thanks to everyone on here that has helped me over the years. I do not
contribute much to the list like most but wanted to thank everyone for
helping me and keeping my jetta on the road.

Nick
