[Vwdiesel] Question

In looking over some of my old un-read email I found a question from Walter L Herold about whether he should keep or sell an '89 VW Jetta diesel. Although he didn't say how much he had into his  '89 Jetta my guess is it would be more than $4,000. I doubt that worth out A/C that he will ever get his money out of it. Also, he didn't say what the condition of the body & interior was. My guess is if the body & interior is rough he would be lucky to get $1000 but if the cosmetics were mint, he might get $3000 or if lucky, more. He did not say what part of the country he lived in & that could play a big part in what the car would bring. If the car is in excellent condition & he wants to keep it, he could treat it as a collector car & get stated value collector car insurance from JC Taylor, Grundy or Haggerty at very low cost. What do the rest of you think? I could be wrong in this assessment.
