Howdy ;
Dan Cotter still lurking here---a long term member--
It is very interesting to read information from our vw friends--
I used to post more info/help previously, may have time to help more as I
plan to retire in a few months. I guarantee I will put more time and effort
into recreational pursuits--observed motorcycle trials competition, scuba,
kayaking, hunting, fishing--and whatever else I get interested in.
54 years old
I still have the first car I bought at age 15---was 3 Willys Jeepsters
(1949,1950) that I cobbled into 1 -I plan to put a modern drivetrain under
it next year. I also still ride the first new Montesa motorcycle I bought in
Alaska in 1972.
Bought a new rabbit diesel in 1981---drove it 385,000 miles---have owned
similar vehicles continuously since '81.
i guess i have not gotten very far in life--currently have 3 caddy trucks---
I did just finish putting a manual transmission into a 2002 jeta TDI that
had a bad automatic; I was able to buy it at a reasonable price. Gee; there
have been a few advances in the 20 year gap there. Nice car--
Best Wishes
Dan
