I just put a VR6 clutch in mine, which is the first major repair it's needed
since the alternator pulley broke... probably a couple years ago.

Overall it's been a good car... much better after I stopped going to the
dealership!

Lately I've been tempted to "upgrade" to the Audi A3, but the DSG is a
dealbreaker for me.  40K fluid changes?  No thanks!  Can't just have a damn
6-speed?

I might think about a new Golf TDI after the initial rush dies down, but I
*did* swear I'd never set foot in a VW dealer again...  Maybe a used JSW?
