[Vwdiesel] help! no coolant flow!

Loren:

I have never sold the stamped steel ones. They were what I would remove from customers' cars since they don't even circulate at idle in some cases (worst was Audi 100LS). However, in my (fairly long past) day, all of the "correct" impellers were open-faced cast iron, machined to fit the housing. I guess the plastic ones came later, or maybe from low-buck sources.

Worth noting: I was quite surprised to find the OEM waterpump in our ALH was plastic impeller. It is now brass (or bronze?).
