Bill,
Pull the return line from the back of the pump to the fuel tank apart at the
back of the bulkhead joint. Put pipe into a jar and with solenoid connected
crank engine. Fuel should spurt out.If it doesn't then pump is not lifting
and priming properly . Use a large syringe [or suck and spit ;o)...] and
draw fuel through. If fuel was present, then unscrew that solenoid valve on
the back of the pump and remove the rubber shut off valve piece and
reassemble. Crank again. If you still get no fuel running through pump, then
there is some kind of blockage. ... Forget that we already know your pump is
generally good! It must be the solenoid. Do not remove flexible fuel
injector return lines as they are often prone to leak when fiddled with.
Loosen all 4 fuel supply lines at the injectors to the point of finger
tighteness and crank engine. As they drip shut them off.
Start car and release air from each fuel line.[They will self prime overa
short time though.]
